Veterinary – Equine Prohibited Substance List

The Board followed the recommendations of the FEI List Group and approved the addition of the following three substances to the Equine Prohibited Substances List:

  • Emidonol (anti-ischaemic) – Banned Substance – Emidonol contains meldonium, a banned substance
  • Nalmefene (opioid antagonist) – Banned Substance – The substance has sedative effects and no legitimate use in the competition horse.
  • Sulfasalazine (disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs) – Controlled Medication – Sulfasalazine metabolises into 5-aminosalicylic acid.

These changes will be sent for consultation to the National Federations shortly and will be presented back to the Board in September for their final approval. The objective is to implement the modifications as of 1 January 2023.

Allocation of FEI Championships and Series

The Board approved the allocation of the FEI Jumping World Challenge Final 2022 to Plovdiv (BUL). The event will take place from 27 to 31 July.

The Board agreed to postpone the allocation of the FEI Para Driving World Championships to 2023 and to re-open the bidding process.

Jumping

The Board approved the modifications to the Rules of the following FEI Jumping events and Series:

  • FEI Youth Equestrian Games 2022.
  • FEI Jumping World Challenge Final 2022.
  • Riders Tour 2022.
  • Young Riders Tour 2022.

Dressage

The Board approved the following proposed modifications to the FEI Dressage World Cup™ 2022/2023.

The Organisers of FEI Dressage World Cup™ Qualifiers may opt to offer either the Short Grand Prix or the Grand Prix at each Qualifier. The Grand Prix test will be used at the Final, instead of the Short Grand Prix.

To simplify the qualification process for the Final, the North American League will apply the same points allocation system as is currently used in the Western European League.

Endurance

Emergency Board Resolution*

The Board agreed to prolong the Emergency Board Resolution on Qualification Process and Validity Periods until 31 December 2022.

As this is an Emergency Board Resolution, National Federations have until 30 June 2022 to signify their disapproval by sending an email to Francisco P. Lima, Director Governance & Institutional Affairs.
